I have always thought that Valentine’s Day was so much fun. Even before I was in a relationship I enjoyed it and that is probably because it is a holiday surrounded by so much cute stuff and chocolate. Have you been to Target around Valentine’s Day? So many unnecessary cute things you feel the need to buy them.
Also, it is a holiday about love and I think that it really can be a great reminder of the people in your life that you love. It doesn’t have to be the person you are in a relationship with. It can be a day about all the people in your life who you care about. I also love chocolate so any excuse to eat it and be with the people I love is a win in my book.
I had been planning a Valentine’s Day cocktail for a while and am super excited to be partnering with Drizly to bring you this recipe. Have you heard of them? They are an online alcohol delivery service that partners with local liquor stores to deliver ingredients right to your door! Yes, literally to your door (It’s amazing). You can download the app on your phone or visit their website HERE to see if they deliver in your area. I have used it on several occasions and it is a crazy awesome idea and super convenient.
I knew that I wanted it to create something super festive and maybe even pink. I immediately thought of a cocktail with Campari because it can add a stunning pink hue to drinks and also a complex layer of flavor.
I finally decided on incorporating Campari heart shaped ice cubes in to the drink and I was telling my brother about it one day and he came up with a GENIUS name for this drink – “Better With Age.” As the heart shaped Campari ice cube melts into the drink you begin to taste different layers of flavor that change as you sip. The base of this cocktail is a simple combination of gin, St. Germain, lemon and simple syrup. It is a beautiful balance of floral and citrus. Be sure to head over to Drizly and order your drink supplies so you can whip up this cocktail for your Valentine’s Day celebrations. Whether you are making this for a girl’s night or for a special date night, this is guaranteed to be a hit! Oh and it is super cute and festive (totally important).
Enjoy!

Hello! If I don’t have time to make the ice cubes how much Campari per drink would you recommend?
Jessi's Kitchen says
It would be a very small amount. Probably 1/8 oz or so. Hard to know for sure but I would start with a very small amount.
