Homemade Salsa

  • 1.5 lbs tomatoes (2 large or 4 small)
  • 2 medium sized jalapenos – deseeded
  • 1 cup diced white onion
  • ½ cup chopped packed cilantro
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 tsp coarse sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper


  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  2. Adjust salt, pepper and lime according to taste.
  3. Serve right away or let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours. More flavors come out the longer it sits.


  • Depending on the size of your lime you may need more than one.
  • You may need more than 1/2 tsp of salt if you have fine sea salt instead of coarse.
