Beef Brisket Tacos

Ingredients

  • 23 lbs beef brisket
  • 12 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, halved and sliced
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp granulated garlic
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 3 cups broth

Instructions

  1. Mix together all of the spices in a small bowl and then liberally season the brisket on both sides. Set aside
  2. Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the brisket and sear both sides for about 1 minute and then remove from the pan.
  3. Add the onions and quickly sauté for about one minute and them and the brisket to a slow cooker.
  4. Add the stock and cook on high for about 8 hours or until the brisket falls apart.
  5. Prepare taco shells and toppings and then shred the brisket. Build tacos according to personal preference and enjoy!
